A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of representing Mom Central at Toyota’s 2011 Sienna Design & Drive event. Being the owner of a 2001 Toyota Sienna, this was a great experience, mixed in with quite a bit of minivan envy. I admit it, I wanted this minivan. While a van is not my “dream car” the features and luxury of this van made it a pleasure to drive.
I met the designers of the van and learned how they made the decisions of what the van would look like from the inside out. The color, textures, features, everything was created by these individuals. They are quite a talented team.
When I got to drive the van, I drove it while picking up art supplies which Toyota was donating to a local charity, Art & Creativity for Healing. Hello! A philanthropy-based, design event! It’s like Toyota created this day with me in mind. I had a great time.
To make it even more head-explodingly-awesome, I toured Calty, Toyota’s design center in Southern California. With my design background, this was the icing on the cake.
