Toyota 2011 Sienna Minivan Envy

This is the closest I can get to a convertible, but I'll take it!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of representing Mom Central at Toyota’s 2011 Sienna Design & Drive event. Being the owner of a 2001 Toyota Sienna, this was a great experience, mixed in with quite a bit of minivan envy. I admit it, I wanted this minivan. While a van is not my “dream car” the features and luxury of this van made it a pleasure to drive.

I met the designers of the van and learned how they made the decisions of what the van would look like from the inside out. The color, textures, features, everything was created by these individuals. They are quite a talented team.

When I got to drive the van, I drove it while picking up art supplies which Toyota was donating to a local charity, Art & Creativity for Healing. Hello! A philanthropy-based, design event! It’s like Toyota created this day with me in mind. I had a great time.

To make it even more head-explodingly-awesome, I toured Calty, Toyota’s design center in Southern California. With my design background, this was the icing on the cake.

To read more about this adventure, check out my post on the Debroff Debrief over on Mom Central. I am one of the community managers for this great site, but I also get to represent our company at events. My job is incredible!

First of all I love and am going to copy your use of the word “head-explodingly-awesome” I plan to copyright it too, so it’s a race to the copyright office. (Damn…Eileen is a runner…perhaps a diversion…wait, what is that over there? Women in Supergirl and Wonder Woman t-shirts advocating male domination of the planet!)?

Seriously Eileen, I think it is brilliant to seek your input and feedback into a mini-van design. Who knows mini van needs like you. I think they should design in your mini van special seat for me , so I can ride in it when I visit. I am suggesting it be called “The Uncle Vinny Mini”

I just beat you to the copyright office. Neener. Head-explodingly-awesome is ALL MINE! And consider yourself owning a permanent seat in my minivan, available whenever you want to visit. You can have the copyright to “Uncle Vinny Mini”. That genius is all yours. I won’t even race ya!
