I love cars. I love looking at them, driving them, and their designs. For now, I drive a minivan because I have three boys and it makes sense. Someday, I will, once again, drive a convertible or muscle car. Mark my words.
Due to my less than dream-like mode of transportation these days, when I got the chance to attend the Lexus Family Safety Camp I grew more excited as the day came closer. I drove various Lexus models in the Rose Bowl parking lot in Pasadena, California as I learned about anti-lock brakes, vehicle stability systems, and brake-override programs. I slammed on the brakes, drove too quickly around wet curves, and had an incredible time. To learn more about this adventure and the driving tips I received from an Indy 500 driver, check out the entire story -with photos! -over at Mom Central Travels.
One thing I love even more than cars is philanthropic causes. Lexus made a donation in my honor to Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, located right next to to the parking lot where their event took place. This donation will allow children, who would otherwise not be able to afford it, to experience the museum. While I drove like I was in an action movie, my three boys had their own great experience playing in the museum, courtesy of Lexus. To pay it forward, the Calandro Clan will also make a donation to the Kidspace Museum so even more children will enjoy themselves there.
